![]() My question is, is it okay for me to go back and do a masters in statistics after a few years of working? The downside is that the math and stats won’t be as fresh, but I figured I’d review it on the side while I work. Part of me wants to just work and make some money. The thing is, I’m gonna be taking some of my most hardest upper div classes, and including the math minor with real analysis courses etc, I’m just not gonna feel like doing a masters in the fall after I graduate. I will be graduating in the spring of 2023, and my goal has been to do a Masters in statistics after school, but I’ve been getting so burned out that my thoughts have changed and now I feel like just working as an entry level data analyst for a few years and go back to school after 3 years. I’ve been taking lots of math and stats for the past few years, I finished my economics minor my freshman year, and as of now I’m just finishing my math minor and stats major, and I’m a third year. Hopefully, if this gets deleted here by mods, you guys can respond in the entering and transitioning thread. Hello, I’m a statistics major and a math/economics minor and in undergrad. The problem with some govt agencies is that they only want you to stick to doing things within your classification, so I take up ‘volunteer’ projects myself and do them.įeeling burned out from my undergrad degree, is delaying the MS okay? I think it’s helpful that I have a current job title as a data analyst, but I’m just struggling to understand and map out how I can move further along in my career. I have a lot of experience in R, but I want to leverage my skill sets through coursera in python etc, and build projects. I want to break into a higher paying role in private, I want to understand how to get there and what steps I should take. I’m in my mid 20s and this was my first job out of college (Im a covid grad). Some background to myself is that I have myīachelors in statistics and am very familiar with stats. ![]() I currently work as a data analyst for the govt, my agency works in SAS mostly and does some work in tableau at times. I was wondering if I could get some sort of career guidance.
